What is a Sensory Room?
A sensory room is a thoughtfully designed space created to support people’s unique sensory needs. It’s filled with calming lights, comfortable furniture, engaging toys, and interactive tools that can help soothe, stimulate, or refocus the senses.
These rooms can serve many purposes. For example, they can be a fun and educational environment for children, a calming retreat for someone experiencing sensory overload or an autistic meltdown, or a safe, grounding space for individuals processing trauma or anxiety.
But sensory rooms aren’t just for specific groups—they’re for anyone who could benefit from a quiet, supportive environment. Whether you’re looking to relax, recharge, or regulate your emotions, the sensory room is here to offer a safe and welcoming space.
